Introduction

Tattoos are probably as old as humanity. There are indications that in the 'New stone age' people already had tattoos. This period was about 12.000 years ago. But both ancient art and archeological findings of tattooing implements indicate tattoos existed even in the 'Upper paleolithic' era, 50.000-12.000 years ago. Tattoos were not a simple mark on the skin. It was a process of cultural connection, connections between families, societies and locations. They stood for luck, protection or strength, courage, growth or beauty. Tattooing was a sacred event, preceded by a ritual, to empower the tattoo and create a deep connection to its meaning. Afterwards, the wearer could always summon these feelings, as they were always present in visual form. This is the feeling I hope to give you. That is why I created 'Ceremonial Tattoos'.

What can you expect?

A ceremonial tattoo session lasts an entire day. Time is not of import that day; after all, time is relative. Through a ceremony that includes meditation, energetic counsel, music and more, we will discover what process you are currently going through and what you need. I will translate the images that come to me and you into a tattoo design in an intuitive process. We will also discover where to place the tattoo, what location will be the most rewarding for you. Inbetween I will provide food and drink. Once you are fully comfortable with the design and the placement, we will place the tattoo.

The tattoo

The tattoo can be placed by machine or by hand-poking. Most common is of course black ink, but color is an option as well, or a combination. You can indicate your preferences beforehand. Afterwards you will get information about aftercare and you will receive an aftercare ointment. After the session you are always free to contact me with questions about the tattoo.
